Refunds & Returns — New Draft
A product-specific framework for handling magazine issues, subscriptions, digital publications, memberships, and future physical goods fairly and consistently.
General approach
Alt-Well intends to describe refund, return, replacement, and cancellation rights beside each offer before purchase. Product-specific terms will control where they are more favorable or legally required.
Nothing in this draft limits non-waivable consumer rights.
Subscription cancellations
Cancellation should stop future renewals through the member account or a clearly stated support process. The final policy must explain when cancellation takes effect, whether access continues through the paid term, and how already-processed renewals are handled.
Print magazines
Delivered magazine issues are generally not suitable for ordinary returns once opened or used. Alt-Well should provide a defined process for issues that arrive materially damaged, are incorrect, or do not arrive within the published delivery window.
The replacement request period, evidence requirements, destination limits, and refund alternative must be confirmed with the printer and fulfillment provider.
Digital magazines and downloads
Digital issues, e-books, and downloads may become non-refundable after access or download where permitted by law. If a file is defective, inaccessible, or materially different from its description, Alt-Well should first provide reasonable technical support, replacement access, or another appropriate remedy.
Platinum and digital membership benefits
The final policy must explain refunds when premium resources or AI-guide access are unavailable, materially changed, suspended, or removed. Temporary maintenance, platform limits, and third-party outages should be addressed separately from prolonged failure to deliver a paid core benefit.
Future physical goods
Eligible unused physical goods may be returnable in original condition under a stated return window. Hygiene-sensitive, personalized, perishable, opened, final-sale, or safety-regulated items may require different rules that must be displayed before purchase.
Damaged, incorrect, or missing orders
Customers should report damage, incorrect items, missing contents, or non-delivery through the designated support channel with the order number and reasonable documentation. Alt-Well should state when it will replace, reship, credit, or refund.
Refund method and timing
Approved refunds should normally be returned to the original payment method. Processing time varies by payment provider and financial institution. Exact internal review and processing targets must be confirmed before launch.
How to request help
Use the Alt-Well contact page until a dedicated order-support address and return portal are established. Do not mail any item without receiving the final return instructions and, if required, authorization.
